Name of award: Patents
Goals of award: Showing merit of
teaching staff, highlighting their scientific performance and promoting
creativity and innovation in the faculty
Conditions of applying for the award:
·
All teaching staff in the faculty of engineering
have access to the award including: Assistant instructors, MA holders,
assistant professors, associate professors and professors
·
Applying for more than one type of the
reward is allowed.
·
Annual submission for the reward is
allowed.
·
Submission includes all recorded
patents locally and internationally.
·
All submitted patents should be
affiliated under KAU.
Submission requirements:
Patents should be recorded locally or internationally;
it has a number issued by the granting body and recorded in 2021.
How points are counted:
Adding points for all recorded patients is as
follows:
·
50 points for USA recorded patients (sole/
first name)
·
40 points for USA recorded patient (2nd
name or other ranking)
·
30 points for each Saudi patient or
others
The committee of the dean’s award for the
highly publishing and patents among the new staff consists of five members:

The vice dean
2.
The vice dean for post graduate studies
3.
The vice dean for development
4.
The coordinator of the scientific
research committee
The chief of the editing committee of the faculty of
engineering journal
