Faculty of Economics and Administration celebrates accreditation by AACSB
|
A special ceremony was held Monday by the Faculty of Economics and Administration in celebration of its accreditation by AACSB.
The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International) was founded in 1916 to accredit schools of business. Its current mission is to advance quality management education worldwide through accreditation, thought leadership, and value-added services. It is regarded as the benchmark for business school quality among the academic community.
The event was attended by Acting KAU President, Prof Abdurrahman Alyoubi.
According to Dr Ayman Fadil, the faculty's dean, the accreditation was the outcome of a lengthy and rigorous self-examination process and demonstrating compliance with academic standards and accreditation criteria.
The faculty's journey towards acquiring the accreditation began several years ago as part of a strategic plan to secure the accreditation from a prominent accreditor, he also added.
Professor Robert Reid, AACSB's Executive Vice President and Chief Accreditation Officer, stressed that strict criteria should be met before any institution could be granted this reputable accreditation by AACSB.
