The official spokesman of King Abdulaziz University, Dr. Sharea Albogami, has explained that some information published in the media about the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and government institutions is misrepresented. There are some groups that target a particular incidence to cause a media hype that may lack objectivity and accuracy. This is certainly the case of the issue related to King Abdulaziz University Distinguished Scientists Program.
The practice on initiating programs that enhance cooperation and collaboration among distinguished scientists worldwide is an international phenomenon. The Distinguished Scientists Program at King Abdulaziz University follows this old philosophy. The program intends to transfer knowledge and take advantage of distinguished scientists in various scientific fields through lecturing , supervising postgraduate projects and theses, supporting faculty members in designing research projects, ensuring correct execution of practical protocols, participation in research groups and programs of research collaboration, and occasionally proceeding with experimental work in their own institution as a collaborative effort. In addition, these scholars may offer training programs to raise the standard of research work. The above-mentioned program began four years ago and has achieved great scientific success, especially at the level of knowledge transfer. To date, it has attracted more than 100 distinguished scholars of high caliber. The commitment, dedication, time, effort, and hard work put in by the scholars are the core of the program's success.
Importantly, several positive results have been achieved by this program. Firstly, the thinking standard of students involved in projects led by the active scholars has clearly improved.
