KAU inks research agreements with Japanese universities, companies and research centres

 
 During an official visit to Japan, KAU President Prof Osama S. Tayyeb, signed joint cooperation agreements with a number of Japanese universities, companies and research centres.

Five MOUs were concluded with Kyoto University, Osaka University, Tokai University, Osaka Institute of Technology. A service contract was also concluded with Kyoto University to establish an Islamic finance centre at Kyoto's Graduate School of Asian and African Area Studies (GASAFAS).

An existing research agreement with Tokai University to develop a solar drone was also extended during the visit. The drone will be further developed to fly when the sun is down using batteries.

A letter of intent was also signed with Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd.

According to Prof Tayyeb, signing of the agreements was meant to boost cooperation with reputable international institutions in various domains.

Prof Tayyeb was accompanied by Prof Adnan Zahed, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research.
