Honors

Every year, the Faculty of Engineering honors its students
as ‘ideal’ or ‘exemplary' learners. Criteria for selecting such students
include their academic achievements as evidenced by GPA scores, which should
be no less than 3.75 out of 5.00 or ‘Very Good’. Standards also include the quality and
amount of student participation in extra-curricular activities, and the evaluation given
to him/her by their department concerning general behavior, conduct, and commitment.
King Abdulaziz University also awards a selection of its
own ‘exemplary’ students from amongst its various colleges, of which the
nomination of such acknowledgments would rely strongly on the honorary status
a student has within his/her own college, department and/or committee.
|
In addition to honoring an ‘exemplary’ student, the
Faculty of Engineering nominates four students as ‘outstanding’ students.
These students should have superior or distinguished contributions in four
types of activities: promotion of Islamic awareness, cultural, social, and athletic.
